A Rich, Unique History of Coming Together

Millikin-Decatur Symphony Orchestra

The Millikin-Decatur Symphony Orchestra [MDSO] of Decatur, Illinois, has a long tradition and is unique in combining of faculty, community and students in its body.

It is a rich educational tool for the music faculty to have available so students can become a part of such a group early in their training. Each string student at the university is required to play in the Orchestra and the other instruments are used as needed and space allows.
